  The Zone Amplifier Card (Model ZAC-30) from Siemens Industry – Fire Safety is a combination 30-Watt, speaker/amplifier zone for use with the MXLV system. Style ‘Y’, ‘Z’ or ‘A/B’ speaker-zone wiring configurations are supported. Model ZAC-30 is power limited and can be configured to provide 30 Watts of audio at either 25 VRMS or 70 VRMS. Model ZAC-30 is a plug-in card that mounts in one (1) Model OMM-1/2 card slot and can be powered by either the Model MMB-2; Model MPS-12; Model PSR-1; Model PS-35, or AlarmSafTM AS/PS5-BFS24-UL power supplies.

  Model ZAC-30 utilizes channel-input switching to allow operation in one (1), two (2), or three (3) channel voice evacuation systems. In any of the aforementioned configurations, a 30-Watt amplifier is provided on a ‘by-zone’ basis, in order for each zone to have the necessary audio signal (Page, Evac, Alert or Other) switched to its speakers without having to provide bulk amplification for each audio channel. 

  Model ZAC-30 contains internal-amplifier supervision, eliminating the need for additional amplifier-supervision modules. To provide amplifier backup, additional Model ZAC-30 cards can be used to achieve the desired amplifier back-up ratios:

• 1:1 (100%) − achieved back-up with one (1) Model ZAC-30 backed up by one (1) Model ZAC-30 or switched backup ƒ
•  1: X − multiple ZAC-30s can be backed up by one (1) Model ZAC-30.
